This memorial is dedicated to the memory of Colonel Theodore Roosevelt “Ted” Carranza, who was killed in action during the Vietnam War. Colonel Carranza was a native of New Jersey, and he served with distinction in the United States Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for serving his country. The Carranza Memorial is located on the Shamong Township Municipal Building grounds. The memorial consists of a bronze bust of Colonel Carranza, which rests on a granite base.
